Taken from Wendy & Nick’s wedding website and in Nick’s own words:

“It all started in Computer Architecture class, wherein the discussion of D-Flipflops and optimal cache replacement policies caused her eyes and mine to meet. I sat down next to her, “Hey, can I borrow your homework? I’m lazy,” I said. No sooner had I said such romantic words, then her heart had been captured by me.

In our Senior Design Class, we had begun designing autonomous underwater drones with circular antennae to circumvent the underwater EM signal attenuation. As a result of poor water signals, we discussed and tested underwater laser refraction quality at my 8 roommate graduate student apartment. After several hours of testing, the evening was beginning to wane. While I held the underwater drone in my hand, I asked her, “Would you like to stay for dinner?”

Six years later, we had faced innumerable educational, occupational, familial, and international struggles together, hand in hand. When we look into each others’ eyes, we see the struggles of the past that forged our relationship with fires hotter than those of Mt. Doom. Even Frodo and Sam would pale at the trials we had overcome. But we now strive toward a bright future, hand in hand, together.”

We officially met in person last week at the Reading Public Museum for their engagement session. What a blast they are together! We cannot wait for their wedding in just under two weeks.

The Proposal
Nick held out his hand to give Wendy a chocolate chip cookie… along with an engagement ring! She was very surprised.

The Wedding
Wendy & Nick will be getting married at Stokesay Castle in Reading, PA on September 2nd of 2023. They currently live in California, but Nick is from the area, so they’ll be celebrating back “home” very soon.
