Taken from their sweet wedding website:
Michael and Carrie first met in the fall of 2014 at the first meeting of the sustainability and business club they were both a part of at Ohio State called Net Impact. Michael had an idea for a project and since Carrie was already a project leader in the club, she was assigned to run Michael’s project. From there, they started texting and meeting up to go over project details. Soon enough their feelings developed into more than just project partners.
Michael and his roommates had a party at their house, and Michael had written on his white board to go apple picking with his roommate Eric. Well somehow Carrie invited herself to go along, but when the day came to go apple picking Eric was suddenly “sick” and only Michael and Carrie could go apple picking. Afterwards, they made an apple pie together (even though Michael had no baking equipment). But luckily the pie turned out to be delicious, which Michael and Carrie took as a good sign of what was to come for them.
After a few amazing months filled with many dates and adventures, Michael thought it was finally time to make their relationship “official.” Michael’s plan was to ask Carrie to be his girlfriend in the middle of an ice skating rink in downtown Columbus after a special dinner. Unfortunately, there was such a long wait to go ice skating that they decided to leave. All of sudden Michael pulls over on the side of the road, turns to Carrie, and asks, “Can I have the honor of being your boyfriend?” Of course the rest is history!
Carrie and Michael obviously knew they had a lot in common from the start, but they had no idea how much they would both change each other’s lives. From backpacking to skydiving to vegetarian cooking, they love that they found a partner who loves adventures and trying new things as much as the other. But after spending 3 years together at Ohio State, Michael was told he had to move to Atlanta for his job. This was a change they were not expecting, but they knew their relationship wouldn’t falter.
Despite Michael moving away, their adventures never stopped, actually it may have spurred even more adventures because now they had a whole new city to explore! But soon enough, Michael moved back to Columbus and they were able to continue their lives together in the city they met. Now they live with their cat and rabbit and love to go on vacations, hike, watch Ohio State football, go to wine tastings, and celebrate their life together!

Check out Carrie & Michael’s engagement session at Carrie’s parents’ beautiful home. Although we had to reschedule three times due to the current conditions of the world, we were finally able to meet them back in May. We had such a fun session together!
