After being in the wedding industry for over 8 years, we’ve found that we’re asked a lot of the same questions by our couples. Last week we shared our recommendations for the amount of wedding day coverage (see that post here), and today we’re sharing alternate locations for getting ready.

We’ve discovered that some venues only allow their couples access for a certain amount of hours instead of all day, (i.e. 3 hours prior to the start of the ceremony) which is totally fine and understandable! In this case, we recommend choosing an alternate location for you and your bridal party to get ready at to ensure there is enough time for photos prior to your ceremony and so you don’t feel rushed. An option that we absolutely LOVE that our past brides have used is renting space through Airbnb. Check out these two gorgeous rentals in Lancaster!
Another option that our brides use is to get ready at their own home or their parents’ home. Hotels are also another alternate location, but the rooms can be very small, so we recommend asking for a larger suite to accommodate you, your bridal party, and of course your photography and videography team.

Whatever space you choose to get ready in, it’s important to remember to keep the areas free of clutter. Designate a room (preferably the darkest room) for your personal belongings, trash, dress bags, and any other item that you do not want to be in the background of your photos and video.

2021 is already halfway booked for us, so if you’re planning to get married any time next year, we’d love to see if we’d be a great fit for you! Getting to know our couples personally is something we’re extremely passionate about. We’d love for you to browse our website, email us at hello@soulfocusmedia.com, or give us a call at 717-422-6857. We can’t wait to chat with you!
