In high school, Kirk was entering his senior year at ELCO and Katie was entering her junior year at Cedar Crest. His school was playing her school in soccer one night and he was on the team, and she was in attendance. Katie says she had her eyes on him the whole game and she knew she had to figure out his name and get his number… and, the rest is history.
They had a vacation planned to Nashville, TN to celebrate the end of another school year and have a relaxing week together. On their way down to Nashville, they decided to stop in Asheville, NC for the night to explore the breweries and mountains. Before they took off the following morning for Nashville, they hopped on the Blue Ridge Parkway and Kirk was determined to find a waterfall, so they stopped at the Visitor’s Center for some guidance. Little did Katie know, she was planning her own proposal. They ended up on a big rock directly in front of the Looking Glass Falls in the Smoky Mountains where she was no sooner looking at the love of her life down on one knee in front of her.
Fast forward to September 8th, 2018; Katie & Kirk’s beautiful wedding day, and the day that ELCO and Cedar Crest played each other AGAIN in soccer. How meant-to-be is that?! They held their outdoor ceremony and reception at the charming Tulpehocken Manor and Estate in Myerstown, PA. With temperatures much more seasonal along with a few rain showers, one even taking place during the entire ceremony, a big backyard BBQ with lots of yummy food, and the support of their dear families and friends, it truly was a breathtaking union to witness!
Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Wenzler! Thank you so much for having us capture your love! We are beyond excited to follow along on your next grand adventure together.
Celebrating with a shot of fireball! Kirk’s mom is adorable! The girls wanted to sneak a peek during Katie & Kirk’s first look. Still can’t get over this shot! Katie’s baby bracelet, which was also her grandmother’s was attached to her beautiful bouquet. It was fun editing these photos. God only knows what word they each used to describe poor Kirk. LOL! They’re MARRIED!!! And, they lived happily ever after! The Creative Team
